The Dordan Mechanical Bantam Reps defeated the Brighton Braves 3-1 to complete a 3 game sweep of their OMHA CC Final and bring the championship banner back to Tavistock!
After winning game one by a score of 6-1 and game two by a score of 6-2, the Titans travelled back to Brighton looking to close out their OMHA Final series.
After a scoreless first period, Cody Wood opened the scoring in the second for the Titans, completing a tic-tac-toe passing play with Jack Holdsworth and Ethan Kirkbride. Mitchell McKay would extend the Tavistock lead to 2-0 on a nice wrist shot from the left hash marks, assisted by Jay Schurink. The 2-0 lead would hold up going into the second intermission.
The Braves would make the game close in the third, scoring a powerplay marker with just 17 seconds left in the period to narrow the Tavistock lead to 2-1. Goaltender Brett Munro and the Titan defence would shut the door on the Brighton offence during a few anxious moments and McKay would seal the win, and the title, with an empty netter with 2 seconds left.
The Bantams won 5 series on their way to the title, winning 15 games with only 1 loss.
