B Champs in Dover
One week after taking Championship in Mitchell it was time to try for title in Port Dover
With not much time to relax after the Win in Mitchell the Bruce Kropf Forestry Pee Wee Team was back in action competing in the Port Dover Tournament. Game 1 was against a tough/physical team from Penetang and with some heavy legs and the physical game Penetang took full advantage and handed the Titans and opening 6-1 loss. Game 2 was against the host team from Port Dover who was feeding off the hometown crowd but the Titans were ready to go, controlling the 1st half of the game but not catching any bounces it was a 2-2 game going into the 3rd. Both teams traded goals going back and forth in the 3rd but unfortunately the Pirates got the last one to take a 5-4 win from the Titans. Game 3 which normally after loosing the 1st two games would be a meaningless game but because of the Points per period system it was a Win and don't loose a period situation to move on, South Kent was the opponent that was trying to put a stop to the Titans weekend but was not successful, with tieing the 1st & 2nd periods and winning the 3rd and the game 3-1 the Titans were able to squeak there way into the "B" Final to face Simcoe. With a scoreless game through the 1st period and even at 1-1 after 2 periods the Titans were able to score early in the 3rd and then again mid way through to seal the deal for a 3-1 win and capture there 2nd title.
Recently in there Southern Counties League play the team has went 1-1-1. Tying Tillsonburg 1-1, beating Waterford 3-2 and taking the loss in Plattsville 5-2.
Next item up for the Titans is the Delhi Tournament Dec 5-7 as they look to capture some more hardware.
