TDMHA Returning to play - We Hope!
Submitted By Larry Kropf on Sunday, February 7, 2021
This Week, you received the Titan's Dressing Room News Letter, that said, Minor Hockey was coming back!

That is our intent, as long as it can be done safely.  The news letter mentioned the  provisions needed for our return:  the end of the Ontario government lockdown and state of emergency, and continued low Covid transmission in our community.

The Executive is trying to be as informed as possible with our decisions and continues to work very closely with the Southwestern Public Health Unit to assess the risk and safety of returning to play.

As of Friday at 2 PM, there were 3 active Covid cases in East Zorra Tavistock (EZT).  Public Health was able to share that there was 1 resident case, and 2 staff cases at a long term care home in EZT.  What they could not share was if the staff members lived in EZT.  They resident case is part of the 3 active cases, the staff cases may or may not be.

The SW PHU site currently says there are 2 active cases in EZT.  Hopefully we hit 0 soon and stay there.

The Covid variant strains are getting lots of attention.  We asked about the incidents of the variant strains in the SW PHU, but that data does not exist.  Any variant information is related to the larger area of Southwestern Ontario.

The TDMHA executive, will continue to monitor the situation and most current information and provide a hockey programming as long as we feel it does not pose undue risk for or members or our community.

Hopefully we are back in the arena soon!  Leading up to that time, and after we are back, we need to stay vigilant, follow all safety protocols, to protect our selves and each other!

Minor Hockey will be hosting a Zoom Meeting on Thursday at 7:00 PM to answer any questions you have about our return to play plan.  By Then we will know the governments plan regarding the Emergency order.  The link will be posted on the website on Thursday.

Stay safe!
