End of the 2020-2021 Tavi Minor Hockey Season
With mixed emotions we close our hockey season tonight at Midnight. Our goal was to be provide at least 20 weeks of hockey programs for the children in our community. While the latest provincial lockdown prevented us from meeting that objective, shutting down play was the right decision to ensure the safety of our members and community.
I'm grateful to everyone who made this season the success that it was: To our players and families for adapting to numerous changes and adjusted safety protocols. To our Coaches and team staff, for working within the safety framework to ensure a fun and challenging program was available for all players.
To our sponsors that stuck with us in a season that they knew, provided very little exposure for their business. To the executive that met on extremely short notice as circumstances changed, made difficult decisions about our programs, and communicated to everyone in a timely, and effective manner. And to our community for supporting us through out the season! Every other season, visiting teams were surprised by the number of fans we had at games; this year the community supported us by staying home! That's a huge sacrifice for grandparents and family members wanting to see our players perform!
Thank You All!
Let's hope the 2021 - 2022 season let's us re-establish the community feel we're so lucky to have in Tavistock!
Go Titans!
