We want to give each Tavi Titan every opportunity to develop as a
hockey player. Whether you are just beginning as a player or a goalie, we
will be providing additional coaching this year. Read below for our
exciting grant announcement!!
Power Skating
We have brought Reuben Smith back for skating development. He will be working with teams two Mondays a month. We ask that our coaches assist Reuben. Rueben has been instrumental with our development over the years and will continue to do so this year. Watch the schedule for your team’s scheduled time.
Goalie Development
We are very excited to announce we are recipients of a Hockey Canada Foundation London Legacy Fund grant. With his grant we will be receiving:
- 11 full sets of goalie equipment of all sizes
- 8 mini nets for practices 3ft x1 ft
- 50 pylons
- received money towards goalie coaching & ice time over this year and next!!
Our objective for applying for this grant was to develop goalies at a young age & have no financial barriers for kids becoming a goalie. We can now supply goalie equipment up to U13, if needed.
On December 6th, and 27th we will be hosting goalie clinics. Tavistock Minor Hockey will have Rob Radford working with new & existing goalies. As well as the clinics, Rob will also work with teams during practices.
Rob is the Victus Academy goalie coach and comes with 20 plus years of coaching experience. He has coached AAA in the OMHA & GTHL as well as coach and assistant coach in the Jr A level. Rob is very keen to help develop aspiring goalies.
You will hear more from your coach on opportunities to try goaltending in one of our sessions. Ask your child if they have an interest in trying goalie & let your coach know. Its FREE & we can supply the equipment!!
