Novice Reps Compete in Silverstick
The Bluemont Farms Novice Reps competed in the Regional Silverstick Tournament in Kincardine last weekend, where they came up against some tough competition, facing 2 strong teams, finishing up 7th in the standings.
Game 1 went on Sunday when the team faced the Hanover Falcons, and even though battling the Falcons in the first 2 periods, the Titans lost steam in the third, dropping a 6-0 decision to their opponents. Dylan West was awarded Tavistock's MVP of the game.
Game 2 saw the Titans meet their Twin Centre counterparts, where once again, the team skated along with their rivals, and after many scoring attempts, fell to the Stars with an 8-1 loss. The lone goal scorer for Tavistock was Alex Michiels with great teamwork from Ashlyn Witt, Dean Alexander and Carter Otto assisting. The Titan's MVP in game 2 went to Keaton Bartlett.
The team would also meet Twin Centre in a third elimination game on Monday to see who would move on the semi finals. The Titans came out strong, providing end to end action for the fans and taking the Stars by surprise. The teams remained close in the first 2 periods, with the Titans keeping the score within 1. The third period saw the Stars pull ahead, but not without many attempts by a determined Titans team. Even though the scoreboard showed a 6-2 loss by the Titans, the team gave it their "all", showing great teamwork and perseverance . Tavistock's markers in game 3 were from Carter Otto and Carter Skillings, with his first goal of the season, who would later be awarded MVP of the game. Chipping in with the helpers were Carter Roth, Carter Skillings and Dylan West.
The weekend showed a hard working team with lots of determination and a "never give up" attitude. We are all proud of our Titans!!
The team will start league playoffs on Saturday, January 3rd verses Tillsonburg.
