The Bluemont Excavating Novice rep team finished
up their round robin league playoffs with two games this week. On March 6th,
the team travelled to Six Nations. The titans battled hard but lost 7-3. On
March 9th, they were on the road again to Delhi and finished with a
2-1 win. This win advanced them to the league semi-finals. Point getters in the
two games were Tucker Otto 2, Alex Michiels 2, Morgan Brenneman 1, Carter
Skillings (3), Logan Rose (1), and Blake Stere (1).
This past Sunday, the Titans played in the Gord Hymers Novice Tournament in Listowel. The first game the team faced home town Listowel. The titans dominated the game and skated to an 8-0 win. Logan MacMillan received the shut-out award and Logan Rose earned a hat-trick award in the game. Carter Skillings was player of the game. In game two, the titans faced West Lincoln and won by a score of 3-2. Player of the game was Tucker Otto. Bryce Hutcheson made many key saves between the pipes for Tavistock in the game. With two wins, the titans advanced to the “A” finals of the tournament against the Caledonia Thunder. The team came out skating hard and put forth a great effort, but after a hard fought battle they lost 5-1 to the Thunder. Player of the game was Carly McIntosh.
