Novice Rep's compete at Kincardine Silver Stick
The Bluemont Excavating Novice rep team competed at the Kincardine Regional Silver Stick tournament on December 28th and 29th. The first game saw the titans face the Twin Centre stars. This was a close game with lots of end to end action. All team members skated and worked hard but finished on the losing end of a 2-1 game. The lone goal for Tavistock was scored by Tucker Otto off a great pass from Carter Skillings. Logan MacMillan made some key saves in the Tavistock net to keep the game close.

The second game Tavistock faced Hanover. The titans got on the scoreboard first with a goal from Cooper Yantzi and Jake Hauss added another goal in the second period. Helpers on the goals came from Tucker Otto and Carter Skillings. The titans fought hard for a few more goals but were unanswered and suffered a 7-2 loss. The third game saw Tavistock take on Kincardine. The team came out skating hard, but weren’t able to capitalize on their scoring chances and fell by a score of 4-1. Tavistock’s goal was unassisted by Logan Rose.

On January 2nd, the team played host to the Twin Centre Stars in the first playoff game in Southern countries league play. This was another close game with no scoring until the third period when Tucker Otto found the back of the net off a great pass from Carter Skillings. Twin Centre then answered back with two goals, but in the last 14 seconds of the game, Jake Hauss scored with help from Tucker Otto to end the game in a 2-2 tie! Bryce Hutcheson made some key saves between the pipes for Tavistock.
