The
Bluemont Excavating Novice Reps competed in the Regional Silverstick Tournament
in Ripley last week.
The first game the titans faced the Listowel Cyclones. These teams were well matched and the game was kept tied until the third period when Listowel went ahead. The boys weren’t able to get another one past the Listowel netminder and finished with a 2-1 loss. The next game the titans came up against the Mount Forest Rams. This game saw lots of end to end action with the team finishing with a 3-3 tie. The third game of the tournament was against Elmvale. The titans got on the scoreboard first and never looked back coming away with a 6-2 victory. Unfortunately, a win, loss and tie were not enough to advance the team on in the tournament.
Point getters for the tournament were Tucker Otto 6, Jay Alexander 2, Chace Robinson 1(2), Cam Munro 1, Cooper Yantzi (2), Bailey Brenneman (2), Rowan Bartlett (1), and Gavin Witt (1).
The team will start their league round robin playoff games this Saturday at home against Aylmer.
