A See Saw Affair
New Hamburg # 2 came to Tavi on Saturday afternoon to take on the red hot Titans to see if they could slow them down. The Titans welcomed Owen McArthur on to the team as he is recovering from injury.
Once again the Titans were not as prepared as they should have been and the Huskies took a 1-0 lead before most of the fans were in their seats. It didn't last long however as Jacob popped in his first of the year after a point shot by Eric once again though the Huskies didn't waste anytime in responding to take a 2-1 lead. Owen then showed he didn't have much rust as he tied it up on a solo effort and just when it looked like it would be tied after 1 Kaleb scored with assists to Jayden and Jackson Sim. Tavi was able to take a 2 goal lead as Sam scored with Jayden getting another assist. Just when it looked like Tavi might run away with it the Huskies scored again to cut the lead to 1. Jayden scored a few minuets later to cap off a 3 point night with assist going to Kaleb and Lucas that 2 goal lead didn't last long as the Huskies scored 10 seconds later leaving the score at 5-4 heading to the 3rd. the Titans applied lots of pressure but couldn't increase their lead until Owen got his 2nd of the night with only 2 minuets to go. Somebody forgot to tell the Huskies the game was over however as they kept coming on and scored again with 40 seconds to go fortunately for the Titans Colin stood tall the rest of the way to secure the 6-5 win. It wasn't the prettiest win of the year but they all count . Time to bring on the Shamrocks on Tuesday night but I think they will need more than the luck of the Irish.
