A Dreary Ride to St. George
The Tavistock "Woodstock Sportswear" Titans PeeWee LL team traveled to St. George for their first match up of the season with the Generals.

It was kind of a dreary day for a drive to St. George but the parents of our Titans could agree that it was better than a snowstorm!

It was a slow start to the game, but the Titans managed to light up the score board first.  Halfway through the first period, Bo Schurink, managed to trickle it past the goalie to get his first goal of the season.   The Generals however, evened the score just before the buzzer.

All the puck luck went to the home team in the second.  The Generals managed to post 3 unanswered goals to make it a 4-1 hockey game.

The Tavi kids refused to go down without a fight.  The Titans seemed to come to life in the third and it was "game on".  With the play in the opposing end, the Titans kept attacking.  "C" wearing Kaleb Albrecht found the puck on the edge of his stick and with a flick, it snuck across the line without the notice of the goalie.  With that, the Titans felt they were back in this game, down only by 2 with 14 minutes left to play.
The play stayed in the opposite end, the Titans turned on the heat.  After many attempts during the game, Sam Leis finally caught a break, scoring Tavistock's 3rd of the game.
Most of the play of the period was spent in the St. George end.  Bayslee Cressman's stick got cozy with the puck numerous times but just couldn't seem to find the twine.  CJ Myers tried his usual "glide down the ice, part the players and score" but the Generals goalie was like a brick wall.  Nick Alexander also contributed to the "sighs from the stands" when the shots he took were near misses.
So many scoring chances with no change to the scoreboard.
With about 7 minutes left in the game, the Generals net came off of the post.  Even though the local fans were informing them, the young Refs didn't seem to notice until the Titans puck went in at the 5 minute mark.  It was a frustrating call for the visitors, the goal being waved off.
Despite more shooting attempts, and even pulling the goalie, the Titans couldn't retrieve the waved off goal and ended up on the lesser side of the scoreboard.

After the game, Coach Marv Leis was overheard saying "If there would have been a 4th period, I woulda had Bo in net".  He was referring to Bo Schurink playing all positions except goal during the game.  His first goal and his flexibility made it easy for the Coach to assign him the #10 sweater for the next game.

The Titans hope to distinguish the Ayr Flames on Wednesday night at home.  6:00 start time.
