Novice LL Titans #1 Clifford Tournament Champs!!
The AMKAD Novice LL #1 team participated in the Clifford tournament this past weekend, bringing home the championship trophy!
The Titans' first game was an exciting match vs the Saugeen Shores Storm. After a 2-goal deficit, the team was able to pull ahead and take the Storm by a final score of 6-3. Game 2 of the tournament saw the team face their hometown rivals, Tavistock Titans #2. From the drop of the puck, the cross-town rivals battled hard in an exciting match, with a final score of 3-2 in favour of the Titans #1, advancing them to the finals. The championship game was yet another close match vs the Hanover Falcons. The teams skated to a 3-3 tie, resulting in 10 minutes of sudden death overtime. Shortly into the period, the Titans were able to slip one past the Hanover goaltender, capturing the win. Goal scorers in the tournament were Chace Robinson 7, Gavin Witt 3 and Jay Alexander 2. Chipping in with the helpers were Robinson 3, Witt, Nathan Wilker, Cowyn Baker and Coehn Adair. Strong defense by Bailey Brenneman, Gavin Jansen, Kaden Wagler and Quinn Yule. Goaltender Bryce Hutchison was stellar in the Tavistock net. Great chemistry throughout the tournament paid off as the Titans brought home the Championship title. Good work Titans! We are all very proud of you! The team will finish up their regular season play this week with games on Wednesday vs Ayr and Friday vs Tavistock Titans #2. Game times are 6:00 pm.
