The Delles Carrier/New Life Mills Midget Rep take Regional Title in Wingham Silver Stick!

On Sunday November 15th in Wingham it was Game 1 of the Regional Silver Stick against Mitchell and after a quick goal by Mitchell the boys settled in and took over the game and were able to win the opener 4-1. Game 2 on Tuesday night against Ayr it was talked about how this game was one that could put them in the drivers seat in there division with a win, the boys came out and gave there best effort of the season so far and took a 3-0 win. Game 3 on the Thursday night was against the always tough team from Kincardine. A win would secure a spot in Sunday's semi finals, and with good team defense from the crease out the the boys were able to keep Kincardine at bay and capitalize twice with less then 2 minutes to go in both the 2nd and 3rd periods to take a 2-0 win and go 3-0 through the round robin. Sunday morning with a couple days rest the boys were ready for Listowel in the Semi Final game and quickly jumping on the board in the first 2 minutes to take control of the game, Listowel tried to take the game over with trying to play the physical game but the local boys stuck to there game plan and with 2 in the second period and one less then a minute into the 3rd period it was 4-1 win and off to the Finals against Saugeen Shores. It was what all Fans look for in a championship game as it was back and forth and chances at both ends of the rink. The boys came out again and controlled the 1st period and took a 2-0 lead after the first period. The 2nd period was the total opposite as Saugeen Shores found there legs and took control and netted 2 goals to tie the game 2-2 heading to the room. The 3rd period seemed to be played by the special teams and both Pentaly Kill units weren't going to give in, so it was off to Overtime. The extra frame had both teams throwing everything they could at the net just hoping it one bounce would end it, well that time did come for Zac Berg on his 3rd shot attempt he was able snap one past the left shoulder to take the 3-2 OT win for the Championship.
The Coaching Staff wants to congratulate all players for there great efforts, sacrifices & Heart that you all showed during the week this was well deserved.
The whole team would like to thank all the supporters who made the trips to Wingham to cheer on the team.

The Team will now go onto to Represent and Compete in the International Silver Stick January 8th - 10th in Forest,Ont and look to bring home that title. Good Luck Boys!
