Atom Rep Action For Week 3!
The Saputo Atom Rep Titans had another busy week of hockey playing six games in five days.....

Kicking it off on Tuesday October 22, the boys traveled south to face the Aylmer Flames, and quickly went down in flames, 5-2. Scoring for the Titans were Ryan Zehr and Drew Roth each finding the net once. With Tyler Lafleur and Drew Roth each adding an assist.

They then hosted Six Nations the following evening and unfortunately kept a three game skid going, dropping this one 5-2 as well. Those bulging the twine, Jay Alexander and Ty Lafleur grabbing one each. Calvin Verkuyl and Dylan McCann each had a helper in this one.

Friday they traveled to Wellesley to begin a weekend tournament, facing off against Flesherton in game one. The boys played extremely well, skating hard, and shooting even harder. They filled the net 11 times, with the final score ending up 11-1. Jay Alexander lead the attack with 4 tallies. Others included Drew Roth with 3, Ryan Zehr had 2, and both August Morschauser and Brady Kuiack had a goal apiece. Setting up this flurry of goals were Kuiack (2), Lafleur (2), and Colin Smith (3). Netminder Spencer Otto providing 2 assists to help his own cause. Player Of The Game honors went to D man Grayden McRoberts.

Saturday Morning at 8am, the boys were still wiping sleep from there eyes, and digesting breakfast, when they came up short versus Mitchell 5-3. Snipers for this one with a goal apiece, Jay Alexander, Evan Nahrgang, and Dylan McCann. The lone assist credited to Brady Kuiack. Another of the teams solid D, Peyton Christie picking up POTG.

The Loyalist Jets were next on the slate, and the boys were certainly awake up for this one. Wow is the best word to describe this matchup. Goalie Spencer Otto picked up the POTG in this end to end battle, but in my opinion, you could have split this honor 13 equal ways. By far, the teams best effort to date this year, they were living up to the old adage 'backcheck, forecheck, paycheck'. There were spectacular goals and assists in this one for sure, but lets focus on the under appreciated, unsung D for a change. Christie, Verkuyl, McRoberts, Zehr and McCann were solid in this tilt. Skating back hard, clearing the front on the cage for Spence and starting many plays with crisp, accurate outlet passes. All in all, a true team effort.

The elimination game of the tourney was a 6-2 defeat to a quick skating host Twin Centre Stars. A team the Titans have battled closely earlier this year, were just no match for them on this Saturday afternoon. It looked like the tanks were empty and the third game of the day proved too much. As always the boys gave a truly Herculean effort, but came up short. Jay Alexander picked up the two goals for Tavi, and the Player Of The Game. The Assisting done by McRoberts, Nahrgang, and Morschauser.

So, with a two win four loss week, a true roller coaster of emotions, some say the biggest highlight for week three is Tavistocks shiny new jerseys. The fresh new look is clean, crisp, and 'had' that distinct smell of back to school clothes. Given this weeks endless action, the jerseys now smell just like every bag of hockey equipment ever.

Come out Tuesday October 29th, to the Tavistock & District Recreation Centre, when Titans go hunting the Paris Wolf Pack. Game time is 6:15pm. The $4.00 entry is one of the best values around.

 See you at the rink.
