Atom Rep Week 4 Recap!
After two straight busy weeks of both league and tournament play, the Saputo Atom Rep Titans were afforded a bit of a break with just two games on the schedule during week 4 of the season....

A good thing actually because this reporter was starting to develop a touch of writers cramp.

The week began Tuesday October 29th when the Paris Wolf Pack came into Tavi and left still trying to figure out Goalie Spencer Otto. The Titans blanked the Wolf Pack 5-0. The team looked smooth dominating all three zones on the ice. The D played stellar in front of Spence, which isn't a surprise. And finding the score sheet for the team were Drew Roth and Ty Lafleur with two goals apiece. Jay Alexander had both a goal and a helper, and chipping in with an assist each, Colin Smith, Brady Kuiack, and Dylan McCann. I was able to catch up with Spencer after the game to pick his brain on the victory. I asked him how it felt to earn his second shutout of the season, and with an infectious smile he said, "Good!" I followed that up by getting his take on the teams effort in front of him helping secure the victory. Without hesitation he replied, "Good!" Suspecting what the answer to any other question would be, the interview at that point was over with the young netminder.

The only other game on the schedule was a tilt Friday night against the Ayr Flames. An extremely close battle of back and forth action, ending with a pulled goalie, and Jay Alexander potting a game tying second goal with ten seconds left on the clock. It was the second time this year the boys have tied it up in the waning seconds with the extra attacker. Jay also had a helper along with Drew Roth, with Colin Smith scoring the first goal of the game. I sat down with 9 year old winger Augy Morschauser and got his reaction to the crazy finish of that game. I tried to figure out what exactly Coach Dylan would have said to the young Titans during the timeout to fire them up, or what the coaches approach may have been for the final play. Augy told me immediately, "I can't tell you that. That's team business." Respecting his effort to keep the team business inside the dressing room we moved on. I inquired what it felt like to be on the ice during such a crazy minute of play ending with his teammate Jay burying the tie, and he exclaimed "Fun, and it was fabulous!"

The next game on the slate is Monday October 4th in Burford.

   See you at the rink!
