Novice Reps Compete in Silverstick Tournament
The Bluemont Excavating Novice Reps competed in the annual Kincardine Regional Silver Stick tournament on December 27th - 30th.
Game 1 saw the team face off against the Saugeen Shores Storm. The opposing team got on the board first but after battling hard, the Titans answered back on a goal by Drew Roth set up by Jay Alexander. The score remained tied until 1 minute remaining in the third frame, when the Storm netted one to take the game 2-1.
In game 2 of the tournament, the Titans lined up against the Listowel Cyclones in another close match. After end to end action, the final score was 4-2 in favour of the Cyclones. Goal scorers in that game were Alexander with a pair, while Parker Glitz and Brady Kuiack chipped in with the helpers.
With the final seedings in place, the Titans met their Listowel rivals once again in a quarter final match. The boys battled hard all game but in the end, dropped a 2-0 decision to the Cyclones, which would eliminate them from the tournament.
Some close scores on the ice and some great off-ice team building will make a stronger team going forward in OMHA and League playoffs!!
Good luck Titans!!
